We had a very early pickup today for our 45 minute drive to the Ivalo airport. The resort had set us up with packed breakfasts of cucumber and cheese sandwiches…so we had breakfast at the airport. Before heading out Mary took a few photos of the lodge...
and the resident gnomes.
These gnomes were at the airport souvenir shop.
The flight was
uneventful but we did see the sunrise from the air.
And were able to see some of Helsinki as we landed.
We are staying one night at
the Hilton at the airport. Took us a
while to find our way there.
We got settled in
and headed down for lunch. Because of
the pandemic the restaurant was operating on a very limited menu…a soup, a
salad, three main courses and a couple of deserts. Limited selection but the food was good.
We relaxed all
afternoon and had dinner at the hotel as well.
A very do-nothing day.
